Hundley Whaley Field Day
Hundley Whaley Agricultural Field Day
In the month of October the Jefferson FFA freshmen took an agricultural field trip to the Hundley Whaley Research Center in Albany, Missouri. Every year the center host an agricultural field day for local schools to participate in to further their knowledge in Midwestern agriculture. At each station of the event there was an individual experienced in a certain field of agriculture or another career related to agriculture. The students spent the day listening to these individuals, watching demonstrations, looking at visual aids, and participating in activities inside and outside of the Hundley Whaley building. Indoors there was a farm management station where the group discussed the importance of technology on the farm. After they discussed, they brainstormed ideas and recorded them on a computer document. One of the many stations outdoors stressed fire safety on the farm and the students even got to put out some small fires!
